Podcasting.

local youth with local perspectives

The Bubbler works with various artists and sound engineers to develop and deliver podcast workshop series with community partner locations. Some groups focus on the future, some groups focus on the past, but all groups keep it real with their authentic storytelling from a teen perspective.

Dee Star leading podcasting workshops with teenagers in juvenile detention center and juvenile court shelter home

Dee Star, local host of OttaDeeBox Podcast, shares his talents, experiences and alternative paths with Madison youth involved in the justice system. Each month Dee leads a 2-day podcasting introductory workshop for students residing at the Juvenile Detention Center and the Juvenile Court Shelter Home.

While continually showing kids how to hook up and run the digital production equipment, the first day is focused on basic conversational techniques while working to define, or redefine, our individual futures. Using the lessons from the first day, a special community guest joins the class to be interviewed by a rotation of student hosts.

Due to the confidential nature of their stay in these facilities, the content created by youth is not currently approved to share publicly.

THE IMPULSE 2 is an album conceived, written, recorded and produced by students enrolled in Shabazz City High School's "The Impulse: History of Music, Movements, and You" experiential learning class led by teachers, Aaron Kaio, Denise Aulik and Brian Counselman. Bubbler artists Rob Franklin, Tyler Brunsell and Corey Whitmore mentored students through the creative and technical processes throughout the 2-month project.

GROW Academy podcast series

Led by Rob Franklin, ShaH Evans and Tyler Brunsell, this 2-week podcasting course developed with GROW Academy staff and students also allows students to redirect individual or group energy toward the making of music and music videos because versatility and following the students' educational lead is our goal.

Due to the confidential nature of their stay at GROW, the content created by youth is not currently approved to share publicly.
